At Western, we proudly offer a challenging academic curriculum supplemented with a variety of extracurricular activities and athletics programs that enhance the student learning experience. Our goal is to prepare students to meet future challenges and enjoy successful college and career experiences.

Home of the Mustangs

Welcome to Tulare Western High School, home of the Mustangs. We’re part of the Tulare Joint Union High School District of California. We serve 1900 students in the San Joaquin Valley. We have set a standard of excellence in education for over 100 years.

Our tradition of excellence at Western continues to provide our students with the tools and competencies they need to find success in today’s workforce and beyond. Greetings students and parents,

I want to assure you that the staff and teachers at Tulare Western will do their absolute best to give your child the most memorable high school experience possible as well as provide an academic program that teaches students to think critically, be civic minded, and contribute to an ever-changing society.

Tulare Western also prides itself on student and community connectedness. With this said, I challenge all students and parents to be as involved as possible at school and find at least one extra-curricular activity or parent organization to engage with this upcoming year. Our Mission

The mission of Tulare Western High School is to create a community of lifelong learners in a safe and challenging environment that prepares all students to become well rounded, productive, and responsible citizens.

Our Vision

Tulare Western is ALL-IN on achieving excellence in a diverse environment that is safe, caring, and welcoming. This PRIDE in our identity, is reflected in academic achievement, extra and co-curricular activities, athletics, community involvement, and college and career readiness.

Our Curriculum

We’ve designed our curriculum to meet and/or exceed California’s Common Core standards and provide our students with a range of courses from career and technical development to college preparation. We offer both honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as community service opportunities to give our college-bound students the best shot at scholarship opportunities.
